The Cut. A Fashion Forward Minimalist Salon
A fashion forward inspired space with clean lines, gentle curves and touch me textures, while offering services for the price of lunch.
Our latest space crush, The Cut, located in Auckland, blends a mix of panelling, textures and tones, all inspired by the fashion that surrounds them inside the shopping mall. The very current colour pallet of green, nude, terracotta and black were chosen to reflect the latest fashion tones seen on the runway.
While feeling rich, textural and beautifully composed, The Cut philosophy is simple. Inexpensive haircuts. With a no appointment policy, come in and choose a service. Simple.
Creative instigator Hamilton Brooks brings his 17 years of experience from top salons in London and New Zealand and introduces the ‘Inexpensive chic’ experience in his hair salon.
The challenge was to create a space that gives the aura of luxury and sophistication while using hard wearing surfaces that are needed for a high paced salon. The look of Herringbone parquetry flooring combined with Formica cabinetry provides the illusion of the luxe look, while standing the test of time. Pale green panelling brings calm and lightness to the room offset by the sleek black cabinetry and furniture.
Comfortel was their first choice when selecting their furniture. The slim line curves and sophisticated silhouette of the Zara Styling Chair was chosen to compliment the design. The addition of the matte black hydraulic base updated the look to match the salon aesthetic. The Stella Washlounge was chosen for the wash area for its symmetrical silhouette. All we can say… it definitely makes our cut.
“We chose Comfortel as they suited the aesthetic of our salon design as well as being highly functional in a busy environment. We wanted to create a fresh, boutique space that felt welcoming, whilst keeping with a modern look and a bit of colour thrown in”
